Alberto Longo

Italy – Puglia

One of the oldest wineries in the world with over 850 years of winemaking experience, yet the cellar is entirely modern

Alberto Longo Winery, located in Lucera, Puglia, Italy, has deep roots in the region’s winemaking traditions. The Longo family has cultivated vineyards and olive groves in northern Daunia since the 1960s.

Established in 2000 by Alberto Longo, the winery operates from a restored 19th-century farmhouse equipped with advanced technology to ensure high-quality wine production. The estate spans approximately 23 hectares, focusing on native grape varieties such as Nero di Troia, Montepulciano, and Falanghina.

Committed to sustainability, Alberto Longo practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, utilizing geothermal energy and solar panels to minimize environmental impact.

The winery is renowned for producing authentic wines that reflect the unique terroir of northern Puglia, particularly the Cacc’e Mmitte di Lucera DOP, a designation established in 1976.

In addition to winemaking, the estate offers hospitality services, including wine tastings and accommodations at Masseria Celentano, a 17th-century farmhouse that has preserved its historical charm.
